A hiker makes his way across the daunting landscape of Badlands National Park. Water has been carving away at the cliffs for the past half million years or so, and it eats away an entire inch or more in some places each year.
一位旅行者正徒步跋涉在恶土国家公园土地上，所谓恶土，就是穷荒险恶之地，印第安人无法在此处种地故得名，是世界上著名的地质奇观。这里植被稀少，一片荒凉。这种荒山地貌的成因是成百上千年的水蚀和风蚀作用，由此形成了犬牙差互的尖塔和尖顶，而此地每年仍然有整块整块的土地被侵蚀成形状各异的荒漠山谷，着实壮观。
